Main Image

For the main image within the contents page of Vibe magazine a medium shot of Kanye West is used with another hand reaching across his chest holding a heart. Also the shot manages to capture the serious facial expression in which Kanye is giving off, therefore stating that he is contributing serious topics within his article. Furthermore the main image lacks a lot colour with the only colour appearing on the heart. Therefore portraying to the reader that Kanye is most likely to shine some light onto his love life.

Sub-Headings

The Sub-headings within the contents page are divided up by the different sizes of text as well as the different styles of font also used to differentiate the content within the magazine. Therefore indicating to the reader where the different features of content are located throughout the magazine. In addition to that bold black font is used upon the sub-headings to make them stand out from the additional information below them and the grey background covering the contents page.

Colour Scheme

The general colour scheme of Vibe magazines contents page is generally dull as the main mixture of colours involve many different shades of grey used for things such as the background and main image. Black is also used for the text as it stands out well from the grey. However a little bit of red is used for the heart on the main image of Kanye West with a heart being held to his chest by another arm coming from behind him. By using bright red the heart immediately stands out from the rest of the colour scheme at a first glance. This is done because the heart is key to the relation of the content within the magazine as it relates Kanye wests personal life, therefore the red would be the perfect colour to use as it symbolises love and passion.

Layout

The layout in which Vibe magazine have set out for their contents page is quite different in comparison to the others in which I have analysed. This is because everything is more spread out around the page and surrounding the outline of Kanye. However the way it is set out with the masthead towering above in the top right hand corner with the sub-headings and additional information below still allows the reader to be easily be drawn in and easily navigated too. This is because they are all spread about within an order which allows the reader to work their way from the masthead down to the sub-headings.
