Target Audience Research - UK Tribes
UK Tribes
UK tribes is a social experiment composed by Channel 4 which involves identifying and breaking down the different cultures in the UK’s younger generation ranging between 16-24 year olds. UK tribes is composed of five main categories: Alternative, aspirant, leading edge, mainstream and urban. They are then split off into more detailed cultures such as skaters, hypebeasts, chav’s etc. Out of the five main tribes the most relatable towards my target audience would have to be the alternative tribe due to the fact that it involves skaters and superfans, those would defiantly have strong passions and connections towards the hip hop genre of music, especially with skaters due to the fact that skateboarding and hip hop crosses over one another, therefore demonstrating that the typical skater would mainly listen to hip hop. The video inserted below explains the alternative style tribe within the UK’s younger generation, demonstrating what has inspired them and how hip hop plays a part within their culture.
Identifying My Target Audience
In addition to the Uk Tribes I have done some of my own research towards what my target audience will be like, that includes things such as what they will do in their spare time, clothes they will buy and what hobbies they are interested in, the video below demonstrates who my target audience are.
